About Molly

Molly Deirdre Pelan is a young harpist from County Down and is a pupil of acclaimed concert harpist Richard Allen. Molly has been playing lever harp since the age of five, after seeing harpist Tanya Houghton perform at the local Spring Fair. Tanya gave Molly her first lessons.

Molly was rated ‘outstanding’ in her recent examination. She has been studying pedal harp in 2025 and this has allowed her to expand her repertoire. In February 2025 Molly attended the Salvi masterclass in the Royal Academy of Music in Dublin with the award-winning Swiss classical harpist Joel von Lerber.

Molly has been performing publicly from January 2025. She plays a mix of classical pieces, easy-listening music and popular Irish songs.
